The "Detect Keyword" feature transforms Auto Refresh from a simple reloader into a powerful monitoring tool. It automatically scans a webpage after each refresh and performs an action if a specific word or phrase is found (or not found).
Setting Up Keyword Detection
- Navigate to the "Detect Keyword" tab in the extension popup.
- In the input field, type the word or phrase you want the extension to monitor.
- Press add the keyword to the list.
- Set the refresh interval as you normally would on the "Time Interval" tab.
- Start the timer. The extension will now check for your keyword(s) after every refresh.

Notification & Highlight Settings for Keyword?
Action and Notification Settings
Once your keywords are defined, you can customize the extension's behavior in the Notification & Highlight Settings section to ensure you react instantly to changes.
- Notify the user: Enable standard system notifications, with the option to choose alerts "When keyword found" or "When keyword not found".
- Play sound on keyword found/not found: Triggers an audible alert, ensuring you catch the change even if you are working in another tab or away from your screen.
- Highlight specific words once they are detected: Visually marks the detected word on the page, saving you time from searching the whole page content.
- Continue refreshing on keyword found/not found: Determines if the auto-refresh cycle should stop or keep running after the detection condition has been met.
- Activate tab focus when the keyword is detected/keyword not found: Instantly brings the monitored tab to the foreground.
Automatic Clicker
For fully automated workflows, the Automatic Clicker feature can perform actions immediately upon keyword detection:
- Auto click detected keyword: Automatically clicks on the element (e.g., a "Buy Now" button) if your detected keyword is associated with it.
- Open the link in a new tab if detected keyword has a link: If the keyword is part of a hyperlink, the linked page is opened automatically in a new tab.
Multiple Keyword Support
Our Detect Keyword feature is not limited to tracking a single phrase. You can enter multiple keywords or phrases into the monitoring list simultaneously, allowing the extension to scan the webpage for all of them during every refresh cycle.
How it Works
- Comprehensive Scanning: After each auto refresh, the extension's intelligent scanner checks the page source for every item in your keyword list.
- Efficient Tagging: Simply type a keyword, press enter (or similar), and repeat the process to build a robust monitoring list of important terms, separated into individual tags.
- Single Alert Trigger: If any one of the keywords is detected, the corresponding action (notification, sound, auto-click) is triggered immediately.
Best Use Cases
Using multiple keywords is crucial for complex monitoring scenarios, such as:
- Monitoring Stock: Track variations like "In Stock," "Pre-Order," and "Add to Cart" simultaneously to know the exact moment a product becomes available.
- Price Change Detection: Use keywords like "Sale," "Discount," or "Lower Price" to catch special offers instantly.
