Sound Alerts in Auto Refresh: Get Notified the Moment a Keyword Appears on Any Page

Sound Alerts

Visual notifications are easy to miss if you have switched tabs or looked away. A sound alert reaches you even when you are not watching the screen.

Auto Refresh can play a sound the instant your target keyword is detected. Turn on "Play sound on keyword found/not found" in the Detect Keyword tab and you will hear an alert the moment the page matches — even from another tab.

How to enable sound alerts

  1. Open the Auto Refresh popup and go to the Detect Keyword tab.
  2. Enter the keyword you want to monitor.
  3. Tick "Play sound on keyword found/not found or selector clicked/missed".
  4. Optionally import a custom sound under the Sound section, or use the default.
  5. Click Save.

Notes

  • The sound plays even when the monitored tab is in the background, so you do not have to watch it.
  • Import your own audio file for a custom alert, or keep the built-in default sound.
  • Pair sound with "Notify the user" for both an audible and a visual alert.
  • Works with both "When keyword found" and "When keyword not found" modes.
  • Sound on keyword detection is a Premium feature.

Sound vs. visual alerts

A visual notification is great when you are looking at the screen, but it is easy to miss if you have switched tabs, minimized the window, or stepped away. A sound alert reaches you regardless — it is the difference between hoping you notice and actually being told.

Auto Refresh plays its alert the moment your keyword is detected, even when the monitored tab is in the background. You can keep the built-in default sound or import your own audio file under the Sound section, and pair it with "Notify the user" so you get both an audible and a visual cue at the same time.

Choosing the right alert sound

The default sound is fine for most uses, but a custom sound is worth importing when you are running several monitors at once — a distinct tone tells you which page changed without looking. Import your own audio under the Sound section, and keep it short and recognizable so it cuts through whatever else you are doing.

Sound alerts pair naturally with Continue Refreshing for long monitoring sessions: the page keeps reloading, and you only need to react when you hear the alert. If you are in a shared or quiet space, combine the sound with "Notify the user" so you still get a visible cue when the volume is down.

Set the keyword, turn on the sound, and get back to work. Auto Refresh will literally call out the moment your page changes — no staring required.
